DEER ISLAND
Deer Island is a 400 acre island at Lake Dora and within sight of the Lake District's "New England like" town of Mount Dora. The island is a natural habitat for blue heron, osprey, eagles, deer and alligators. This is an absolutely gorgeous site for this Joe Lee designed golf course.
Deer Island plays host to several tournaments each year including the Tear Drop and Hooters tours. At 6700 yards from the back tees, even the pros find this course a challenge. Hint: better short and straight than long and wet.
